How to fix the “NO Sound” issue.
Sometimes iPlay CG doesn’t produce any sound. It usually fixes itself eventually. How can I fix this problem immediately? Thank you for the great app.
iPlay CG uses the device’s sound engine so sometimes it may lock up for unknown reasons. Go into sound settings, slide the volume to maximum and flip all the switches off and back on. This will refresh the sound engine immediately.

1. First, make sure the volume lock is off or there will be no sound. Next Go into iPad’s setting page. Tap “General”, then “Sounds”. Minimize the volume slider and then maximize it. This will refresh the system’s sound engine, which was crashed by a bad app. I’ve tested it on my iPad 2 with iOS 5.0 and there is sound.
2. For now, you can turn off multi-touch gestures in the iPad’s Setting page under the General section. I will be submitting an update to Apple soon to fix this problem. Instead of 4-finger swipes, it will be 3-finger swipes.
You seem to play “Chinese ghost story” with one octave higher than standard tuning.
How do I change the octave.
The demo video of Chinese Ghost Story was made a long time ago before the soundboard was scrollable… At that time, it was possible to switch between low and high octave, which is not realistic because you can’t do that on a real guqin.. Now it’s not possible do that in the current version…
However I’m thinking about updating the app with the option to apply a capo on the soundboard much like a guitar capo… So if you apply it on the 7th dot position, you will be able to go up one octave. Please stay tuned for the next update… more sound sets….
