When is the guqin pro going to come out? I want to get it!!
Thanks for your support and interest. Guqin Pro will probably and hopefully come out Spring 2012. I’m working hard to make it as awesome as possible. Here are the planned features in addition to what’s already included in the current Guqin app:
1. Resize the length and width of the soundboard = wider frets
2. Scrollable soundboard = no more buttons
3. The option to switch between fretless mode and fretted mode = you can play it like a guitar
4. Because of features 1, 2, and 3, this app can essentially emulate any string instrument in the world….
5. MIDI controller function when in fretted mode = control any virtual instruments in Garageband, Logic, Ableton Live, Reason, etc…
6. More high-quality sampled sound sets.
That sounds great! Is it going to be a lot more expensive than the current edition, then?
The reason I’m making the pro version only for iPad is that I can’t improve the current version any further for iPhone users due to limited screen space. I want to keep the price low for the current version mainly for iPhone users and iPad users who just want to try out the guqin app.
For iPad users who really love the current guqin app and want more, they will be able to download the pro version with a lot of extra pro features like MIDI and Emulating other string instruments.
The pro version will be considerably more expensive than the current version, whose price I’m planning on lowering. But considering all the things one can do with the pro version, it will be well worth the higher price.
